BoostHouse MotorWorks was founded in 2021 with one mission: give Subaru owners a performance engine builder they could actually trust.
Four years later, we're still doing it the same way. Hand-assembled. Measured twice. Built to outlast whatever comes next.
Jose was 18 years old when he blew the motor in his STI for the second time. Subaru had rebuilt it once. He wasn't going to let them do it again. So he tore down a $40,000 car in his parents' garage and rebuilt the motor himself.
That decision is the reason BoostHouse exists.
What started as one stubborn kid refusing to settle turned into a decade of self-taught craftsmanship. No formal training. No mentors handing him shortcuts. Just YouTube, tolerances, mistakes, and the kind of obsessive curiosity that turns a hobby into a profession. By the time he was running his own shop out of a small space in Taylor, he was already the guy other Subaru owners called when something didn't feel right.
BoostHouse came next, when Jose wanted to move closer to Austin and build something bigger. The name is four years old. The craft behind it is a lot older than that.
The way Jose approaches a motor hasn't changed since he was that 18-year-old in his parents' driveway. Tear it down. Measure everything. Figure out what actually went wrong, not just what's easiest to replace. Build it back better than it came from the factory. That's not a marketing line. That's the whole reason he's still doing this ten years in.
We tell you what we think, not what you want to hear. If your setup needs something different than what you asked for, we'll say so before we take your money.
Every tolerance measured. Every bolt torqued to spec. Every build treated like it's going in our own car. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
You get photos during the build. You get a parts list and a build sheet at the end. No mystery, no surprises, no "trust me on this."
Real hands, real focus, real attention to detail. A look behind the scenes at the team that makes every build happen.

Every inch of our shop is organized around one goal: building motors right. Clean assembly benches, proper torque equipment, verified measuring tools, and enough space to not rush anything.
We treat our tools the way we treat the motors. Calibrated, maintained, and respected.
Whether you're planning your first performance motor or your tenth, we'd love to hear about it. No pressure, no hard sell.
